Welcome to PPTLC!
Our Mission
The mission of the Pediatric Play Therapy Learning Coalition (PPTLC) is to organize, encourage, and educate families of children with special needs. PPTLC supports and promotes advocacy, economic development and develops alternative recovery based initiatives.
The coalition will merge experts in the field of Child Development and advocacy by the following:
connecting theory,
research and practice and
promoting interaction among various systems to plan and develop compressive, coordinated educational programming.
Our Goal
PPTLC’s specific goal is to build skills for developmental delayed and atypically developing children through Music and Movement Services. Music and Movement Therapy is based on a conceptual model that uses music to accomplish therapeutic goals. PPTLC believes that music works on several levels including cognitive, emotional, and neurological components. Ideally, the children make themselves more available to the therapist and play facilitators creatively while learning skills that enhance all areas of development.
